The British Columbia Ministry of Health and Interior Health have announced that Plenary Health is the Preferred Bidder for the Interior Heart and Surgical Centre, at Kelowna General Hospital in British Columbia.

"Plenary Health is thrilled to have been selected as preferred proponent for the Interior Heart and Surgical Centre, amid a world-class field of contenders", said Mike Marasco, CEO of Plenary Health. "We are very excited about this project, which will be a true landmark for access to cardiac care in the Interior. We look forward to concluding the procurement and are looking ahead to partnering with the local community in Kelowna to bring the new Centre to life."

The Interior Heart and Surgical Centre will be the first cardiac critical care centre in the province, outside the Lower Mainland, and will incorporate capacity for 15 operating rooms, surgical support services, including a cardiac surgery intensive care unit, an expanded central sterilization reprocessing department and a pre and post-operative care unit. The Centre will enable doctors to perform approximately up to 600 open heart procedures per year.
