In September 2007, Plenary Group entered into a sponsorship with wheelchair basketballer, Kathleen O’Kelly-Kennedy. Now 21, Kathleen has been a member of the Australian Women’s Wheelchair Basketball squad since she was 16. She is also a Victorian Institute of Sport athlete. Kathleen is currently studying at the University of Illinois in the USA and is gearing up for the fast-approaching 2008 Beijing Paralympics. Kathleen is part of the University’s wheelchair basketball program.
First offered a place on the program when she was 18, Kathleen was in the first ever scholarship intake of Australian women to this highly specialised University of Illinois program. Kathleen’s scholarship with the University will be supplemented by Plenary Group’s sponsorship and assist Kathleen to focus on the Beijing Paralympics while she continues her studies in the US. Plenary Group will also assist Kathleen to raise funds for her sporting and academic pursuits. We are very proud to be associated with such a determined and inspirational sporting achiever.
