Published 22 Jun 2010: P-3 Process Achieves Value for Taxpayers' Money for Cancer Centre construction
Prince George, B.C. - A recently released report answers the question of whether a private-public-partnership process for the BC Cancer Agency Centre for the North means more value for taxpayers' money.
The "Achieving Value for Money" report says the final agreement with Plenary Health is expected to achieve value for taxpayers' dollars of 4.9 million dollars compared to traditional procurement delivery.
Project Manager for the Northern Cancer Control Strategy Hal Collier says in addition to providing value for taxpayers money, P-3's encourage the private partner to develop an innovative design, and in the case of the Cancer Centre, that includes building it to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold Certification.
